Sherry Whitaker - Treasurer
Ms. Whitaker began her career with the FDIC in September 1986 in the Oklahoma City Consolidated office and held several positions with the FDIC and RTC in Receivership Accounting operations from 1986 – 1991 in Oklahoma City, Dallas and Denver. She transferred to the Division of Finance’s Washington DC office in December 1991, held leadership positions in FDIC’s Corporate Financial Reporting area and was a key participant in the 2005 implementation of the FDIC’s Oracle/PeopleSoft enterprise financial software. Following the implementation, Ms. Whitaker managed a team of system accountants and analysts who supported FDIC’s business areas to meet their accounting and reporting needs in the software. She is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Certified Information Technology Professional (CITP).

Ms. Whitaker retired in April 2017 after 30.5 years with the FDIC. She lives in Lake Frederick, Virginia, has five grandchildren, four nearby and one in New Mexico, and loves spending time with them. She is Treasurer of the Capital City Cherokee Community, a non-profit satellite community of the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma whose mission is to share Cherokee culture, history, and language with fellow Cherokees in the area.
